One of the best singles bands of the '60s, Small Faces set a high bar for all prospective mods. The Jam were drawn to the biting guitars and angelic melodies, while Ocean Colour Scene were besotted with the grizzled soul in Steve Marriott's voice. And although Oasis had a beady eye on the wide-eyed psychedelic romances, it was Blur who adopted the band's Artful Dodger swagger as their own.
