Inspired by Hüsker Dü

It would be hard to name many alternative bands who were not influenced by Husker Du. The intensely loud Minneapolis trio fast grew out of pure hardcore, taking on psychedelic overtones, brutally personal lyrics and honest-to-God hooks. Bob Mould and Grant Hart both went solo in 1988; The Pixies, Green Day and The Foo Fighters all picked up the Husker torch.
