It’s probably more fitting to think of IMAGO as an ever-morphing project than a rock band with a clear manifesto. After all, it takes some imagination to traverse from the hypnotic folk rock of breakout hit “Rainsong” as well as the rap-laden verses of “Partida”—while ticking off grunge, disco, pop-punk and everything else in between. Having more than their fair share of lineup rotations has led to their changing identity. But each song speaks for itself, particularly when classic tracks such as “Sundo” are stripped down to their essence.
