Ian Munro Essentials
Apple Music
A hugely accomplished pianist and composer, Melbourne native Ian Munro's mantle heaves under the weight of awards. As well as the classical standards, Munro has a special interest in new music and conceptual projects, which is reflected in his recordings. Expect light—touched tinkling and up—tempo concertos, all the way to dark, brooding numbers designed for stroking the chin to, including rare and unusual works of the 19th and 20th centuries. Munro's 2003 concerto “Dreams” saw him become the only Australian to win the Grand Prix at the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition, complimenting his array of performance awards.
