As the first Australian signing to storied Seattle indie label Sub Pop, Husky made international entry with an air of predestination in 2012. In truth, the dreamy echoes and moody twists of Forever So had been rippling across the alt airwaves for a year back home. The fireside harmonies of Melbourne cousins Husky Gawenda and Gideon Preiss had been charming folk-rock pub denizens for at least three more. Their cottage-made debut was mixed by Noah Georgeson (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom) in LA and its follow-up, Rucker's Hill, expanded their touring circle to Europe in 2014. The year ended with a $50,000 win for its lead single, Saint Joan in the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition.
