True pioneers in the world of dubstep, Horsepower Productions first came together in 2000 just as the U.K. garage scene was reaching peak commercial success. While they stripped away the glitzy R&B trappings that dominated the mainstream the Horsepower boys kept the swinging and syncopated rhythms and most crucially they cranked up the bass, layering on low-end frequencies that felt closer to dub reggae and drum 'n' bass. While the sound of dubstep continues to mutate Horsepower keep on rolling out their trademark reverb-soaked and floor-shaking grooves.
