Blurring the lines between pop, rock, folk and electronic music, Baskara Putra—better known by his stage name Hindia—emerged as one of Indonesia’s most shining indie rock stars in the late 2010s. Eschewing the approach of many of his arena-commanding peers, however, Putra’s lyrics focus on telling tales of everyday life and people, as showcased in cuts such as “Secukupnya”, “Rumah Ke Rumah” and “Evaluasi”. His music runs the gamut from the subdued and bittersweet to the upbeat, but is always buoyed by his earnest voice.
