That sound went fully mainstream in 2018 with a run of Lil Baby collabs, including the Drake-featuring “Never Recover” and diamond-certified earworm “Drip Too Hard”. Gunna nailed down his robust rep with a turn on trap figurehead Metro Boomin’s aptly titled 2019 floater “Space Cadet”. Like his label boss Young Thug, he has a thing for fashion and the two linked up with hallucinatory results on the Future-assisted 2022 cut “pushin P”. Gunna continues to work with Atlanta’s top talent, such as Offset on 2024’s ultra-slow “prada dem”, while maintaining his status as a master of malleable melody and dismissive cool on bleary gems like 2023’s “bread & butter”.
