Goldie Essentials

Raised in England's West Midlands, Goldie established himself as a pioneer of the drum 'n' bass scene in the early '90s. At first recording as Rufige Kru, his music is based around frenetic and complex breakbeats. Goldie's debut studio album, 1995's Timeless, hit home as a soulful affair as he captured the sound of inner-city U.K. life. His follow-up, 1998's Saturnz Return, headed in an expansive direction, complete with guests like Noel Gallagher, David Bowie and KRS-One. Since then, Goldie has forged a sideline career as an actor and become a regular reality TV contestant.
