Gerry Cinnamon is the busker who sees everything. Carrying a scuffed acoustic guitar on his back and singing in a broad Glaswegian accent, he watches life happen around him, then writes exuberant and confessional songs that use street language as poetry (“Belter”). His tracks are rough diamonds, given a polish by that sandpaper voice and then carried aloft by his ardent fans—it’s only fitting that his community would embrace his unpretentious approach, and directly sponsor his early successes. He continues to mine everyday life for material, such as the inspired cursing that lights up his 2019 single “Canter".
