Gang Gang Dance Essentials

Apple Music

Coming out of the psych-folk scene, Gang Gang Dance amassed a cult following due to Brian DeGraw's percussion-heavy free-form compositions and Lizzi Bougatsos' endearingly eccentric vocals. Treading the line between anti-music and pan-cultural psychedelia on their early albums, the group moved towards a more structured sound with 2008's Saint Dymphna, where they embraced synth-pop and disco elements. That shift ultimately led to the release of the critically adored Eye Contact project in 2011.
