Fu Manchu Essentials

Californian stoner rock band Fu Manchu began in the '80s as hardcore punk band Virulence. They reconfigured in '90, and in '94 they released their debut LP, No One Rides For Free, on Bong Load Custom Records. Their second album, Daredevil reached a higher profile thanks to a coveted opening spot on tour with Monster Magnet. They signed with Mammoth in '96, with whom they released their next five albums, including their '00 breakthrough King of the Road. The band's constantly shifting roster hasn't slowed them down; 2014 saw the release of their 11th album, Gigantoid.
