Frank Turner is a firebrand singer/songwriter in the vein of Billy Bragg and Ryan Adams. He got his start as the vocalist for the post-hardcore band Million Dead, then embarked on a solo career when the group disbanded in 2005. While he credits Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska as a key influence, you can still hear Turner's roots as a metal singer in his gruff delivery and the palpable tension of his songs. As evidenced by a tune like "Recovery", Turner doesn't pull punches in recounting his tales of long nights and wasted days.
