Family Tree: Sonic Youth

Throughout their prolific career and since their split, Sonic Youth have maintained a strong sense of community. Along with solo efforts from Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo and Kim Gordon, all four core members of the band guested on other people's records—including indie hits by Dinosaur Jr., R.E.M. and Kurt Vile—and enjoyed side projects like Chelsea Light Moving, Free Kitten and Body/Head.
