Electronic Pop in the '50s and '60s

As synthesisers became more portable and easier to control in the '70s, electronic sounds became increasingly common in pop music. But in the decades prior to that widespread adoption, early electronic instruments found their way into pop music, from the easy listening novelties of Perrey & Kingsley to the aggressive experimentation of Silver Apples and The United States of America.
