This fast-rising, local progressive metalcore band put their own stamp on a tried-and-true sound. Balancing hoarsely yelled vocals with clear emoting, while embellishing their sinewy rock with electronically programmed drum effects, synthesisers and more organic keyboards, Dream On, Dreamer display an unusual knack for building tracks from the ground up. As open-ended arrangements swirl around strategically placed breakdowns and djent-crunching guitars, their tales of romantic turmoil, crushed hopes and determined (if frequently foiled) ambitions are given a commanding intensity.
