Don Schlitz: The Songwriters

Songwriter extraordinaire Don Schlitz may be best known for hits like Kenny Rogers' “The Gambler” and Randy Travis' “Forever and Ever, Amen” but his career is much more storied than two GRAMMY®-winning songs. Truth is the Durham, N.C. native has written 24 No. 1 singles, a Broadway musical and was honoured in 2010 with the Academy of Country Music's Poet's Award for lifetime achievement in songwriting. So he would've landed in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, had he never gambled at all. This list will show you why.
