Just as his career had begun to take off, Doe B's life was tragically cut short in a nightclub shooting in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. The 22-year-old, who T.I. described as “The Southern Biggie,” was picked up by Tip's Grand Hustle Records off the strength of his 2012 street anthem “Let Me Find Out”. In 2013, Doe contributed to Hustle Gang's G.D.O.D. mixtape alongside Juicy J and B.o.B. Six months before his passing he released Baby Jesus, a mixtape that showcased the full range of his abilities—trap bangers, auto-tuned ballads and songs with genuine introspection.
