This playlist features some of India’s finest vocalists giving their renditions of the aartis—which are sung during lamp-lighting rituals—as well as mantras and prarthanas (prayers) dedicated to the deities venerated during the five-day-long Diwali festivities. They’ve been compiled to accompany the various ceremonies and celebrations, and include classical and semi-classical interpretations as well as pop-leaning songs.
