Dion Essentials

Rock 'n' roll legend Dion has led multiple musical lives. In the late '50s he and his Bronx buddies The Belmonts developed a street-corner doo-wop sound that sparked hits like "A Teenager in Love" and "I Wonder Why". On his own in the early '60s, he unleashed rhythm ‘n’ blues-greased classics like "The Wanderer" and "Runaround Sue". By the late '60s, Dion had reinvented himself as a folk-rock singer/songwriter with tracks like the socially conscious ballad "Abraham, Martin and John". He never stopped exploring—in his 70s he teamed with Paul Simon for a tribute to their shared hometown on 2016’s "New York Is My Home".
