Texas native Dan Seals may have been the younger brother of Seals & Crofts's Jim Seals but he had no trouble striking gold on his own. Throughout the ‘70s the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist first gained fame as England Dan in the socially conscious soft rock duo England Dan & John Ford Coley. From there Seals went solo under his own name for a crisply produced country career that stormed the ‘80s, ‘90s and beyond only to be silenced by his untimely passing in 2009. Nonetheless the music lives on thanks to a series of posthumous compilations and Coley's ongoing touring tributes.
