Dallas Crane belong to a rich tradition of Australian bands who know how to mix hard rock, garage punk and maximum R&B until one is indistinguishable from the other. Founded in Melbourne in the mid-'90s, right at the tail end of the grunge explosion, the outfit set themselves apart with their retro attack and emphasis on big hooks. The riffs are simple, snarling and deliciously repetitive. Dave Larkin, meanwhile, is a raspy-throated scowler. In other words: excellent party music.
