Making his debut at the dawn of the dancehall era, Cutty Ranks became infamous for his massive badman anthems in the '80s and '90s. With his swaggering gangsta attitude and ultra-gruff voice, he represented dancehall at its most hardcore. While other vocalists were aiming for pop success, Ranks shocked the dance with his gun talk, taking lyrical shots at anyone who dared to step to him.
