With his heartfelt delivery, Cheo Feliciano always showed his strength when he sang romantic boleros. He was already a veteran of the salsa scene, having sung with Joe Cuba's sextet for over 15 albums, when he eventually decided to branch out. He performed with bands like Eddie Palmieri's group and Fania All-Stars before launching his own record label, Choche Records, in 1982. He recorded a number of solo albums throughout the ‘90s with Ralph Mercado's prestigious label RMM, alongside greats like Tito Puente, and remained active and vital in the Latin music scene until his death in 2014.
