Catherine Britt began her recording career as a country singer at 14, with experienced mentors guiding her path. It was Bill Chambers, Kasey's dad, who first got Catherine up on stage and into a studio. Then an unlikely fairy Godfather in Elton John heard her sing and organised a move to Nashville. The pair even recorded a duet, which was one of Catherine's three Top 40 country hits during her six years working in the US. After returning to Australia in 2009, Catherine rose to prominence as one of local country's leading lights, earning a clutch of ARIA and CMAA awards.
