Buckcherry Essentials

When Buckcherry dropped “Lit Up” in 1999, it heralded the return of hard rock that was rude, lewd and stuffed with ferociously driving riffs. Here was a band that had no use for grunge’s angst or nu-metal’s darkness; all they wanted to do was churn out wall-rattling odes to decadence that would make their idols in AC/DC pleased as punch. It’s a philosophy Buckcherry have clung to throughout their long and successful career. An album like 2021’s Hellbound, released nearly a quarter-century after the group started hitting the SoCal club scene, is just as mean and lean as the killer debut single that transformed them into rock stars.
