Bill Hicks Essentials
Apple Music

Emerging as the '80s answer to Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks was the ultimate outlaw comedian, a born iconoclast who brought a bold, confrontational approach to stand-up comedy. Censorship and reactionary uproar couldn't silence him, with bits like “Great Times on Drugs” and “Smoking” daring to question the law, religion, societal norms and any other authority symbols Hicks could think of. He got laughs not just by getting angry, but by getting real, and making the audience a part of his ad-hoc conspiracy against convention. With his renegade attitude and no-prisoners moxie, it's no wonder he was considered the rock 'n' roll comic.
