Best of Instrumental Reggae
Apple Music
Anyone who bought a reggae single in the '70s, flipped it over and played the dub version knows how crucial the instrumental groove was to reggae. Plenty of non-dub reggae also did fine without vocals, as artists like Byron Lee, Ernest Ranglin and the seminal Skatalites found the reggae/jazz connection. Meanwhile Augustus Pablo's melodica became one of reggae's instrumental trademarks.
