Specialising in records with inventive packaging—released in tantalisingly limited numbers—the mysterious indie micro-label Acéphale emerged in the late-‘00s, quickly becoming a go-to imprint for innovative dream-pop and electronic bands. Some initially tagged Acéphale as a chillwave label, but as they signed artists like Elite Gymnastics, it became clear that they can't be pigeonholed.
