Barry Adamson Essentials
Apple Music

Barry Adamson was already as a key figure of the British post-punk scene thanks to his bass work for both Magazine and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. But after leaving the latter group in 1988, he has busied himself making cut-and-paste soundtracks to imaginary films, albums that delightedly skip from glammy rave-ups to musique concrete soundscapes, and passionate pop songs that evoke influences like Scott Walker, Ennio Morricone and Lee “Scratch” Perry. As well, Adamson has gotten the call to make actual movie soundtracks, creating modern film noir backdrops for directors like Carl Colpaert.
