Formed in Washington D.C. in 1977, Bad Brains were a massively significant band in the development of what came to be known as hardcore punk. With lightning-fast tempos and the charismatic sneer of frontman HR, Bad Brains retained a trace of the jazz fusion sound that inspired them early on. As the band developed, elements of metal, funk and reggae became prominent, drawing in fans from all over the music scene. The band continues to the present day, having released the Adam Yauch-produced return to form Into the Future in 2012.
