By the '70s, B.B. King was already a blues legend several times over. But he wasn't about to rest on his laurels. The horn-punctuated soul shimmy of “Slow & Easy" and the lush strings and unpredictable chord changes of “Hummingbird” show his refusal to be pigeonholed. As for his signature, from-the-gut guitar cry, it leaps out of every track that he touched during this era.
