Shoegaze and post-metal collide to create sonic supernovas for this French band. Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Neige has roots in black metal but uses wildly distorted guitars to achieve transcendence rather than dig down into the dark stuff. Neige played everything on 2007's debut Souvenirs d'un autre monde, which pits My Bloody Valentine-style sheets of distortion against his surprisingly delicate, keening vocals to evoke a personal fantasy world.
