Yaeji is a rising star of the electronic scene. The DJ, producer, singer and rapper alternates between English and Korean on highly personal songs that blend house, hip-hop and more. • Kathy Yaeji Lee was born in Flushing, Queens, before spending time in Atlanta, Seoul, and Long Island, New York. All of the moving around made her introverted but also open-minded. • Yaeji attended Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon to study fine arts. She broadcast her first-ever DJ set on the university radio station WRCT. • Her chilled 2017 cover of Drake’s “Passionfruit” streamed in the eight figures. Her 2017 collection EP2 features “Raingurl”, an uptempo, bilingual house track that has well over 50 million streams. • In 2020, Yaeji released her debut mixtape, WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던, through XL Recordings.
