In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my older BMX friends at the time, around 2004/5 gave me the Deicide, Once upon the cross album and I had to hide that one from my parents. I still know every word - Luke. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Carcass, Heartwork Nasty, Menace Slayer, God Hates Us All XILE is named from the Slayer song EXILE, we just chopped the E off. Nasty's Menace is a Masterpiece, a huge influence on us. I used to walk to school listening to Carcass's Heartwork album, I think it had the most influence on our song Damaged. Tell us why you chose this song. “Diamond Eyes” I created the vocal chorus, Diamond Eyes, full of lies in a taxi on tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. When we hit the studio to record IAYG we only had 9 songs, I remembered that line I had in my head and we wrote the 10th song around it in the studio. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing our I Am Your God album release show to a sold out hometown crowd here in Auckland NZ Oct 2022, 2 years after we released the album in 2020. It was an incredible feeling to see everyone screaming the lyrics back at us and the pit going off! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We started this band to see the world! We want to go to Europe, UK, USA and we love drifting & JDM cars so we cant wait to get to Japan. It would be awesome to respond to all those COME TO BRAZIL comments haha. Life is about experiences.
