About Wesley Safadão
Brazilian pop singer Wesley Safadão started out as the frontman of a successful band before becoming a multi-Platinum solo star known for invigorating the electronic forró genre. ∙ At age 14, Safadão became lead singer of the regionally popular Brazilian group Garota Safada and recorded with them five hit studio albums and three live LPs. ∙ In 2015, he collaborated with the pop duo Marcos & Belutti on the smash hit “Aquele 1%,” which topped Billboard’s Brazil Hot 100 Airplay chart. ∙ His double-Platinum solo debut, 2015’s Ao Vivo em Brasília, was recorded in front of more than 40,000 fans and featured pop star Ivete Sangalo on the show closer, “Parece Que o Vento.” ∙ At the 2017 and 2018 Prêmio Contigo! awards, he won back-to-back Best Singer trophies, as well as taking home honors for Best Clip (“À Vontade”) and Best Music (“Amor Falso”). ∙ Safadão was prolific in 2020, releasing three LPs (Garota Vip Rio de Janeiro, WS em Casa 2, and Safadão Amplificado) and the hit single, “Rodou,” with Claudia Leitte.
