About Vonda Shepard
After studying voice and piano from an early age, Vonda Shepard began working in clubs as a teenager, and landed slots as a backing singer for Jackson Browne and Rickie Lee Jones. After signing with Reprise Records and releasing two albums that failed to produce a hit, Shepard was dropped from the label. She subsequently returned to the Los Angeles club circuit, building up a loyal following and independently releasing IT'S GOOD EVE in 1996. Her big break came when she was cast as the resident singer in the hit television series ALLY MCBEAL. Shepard’s "Searchin’ My Soul" was used as the show's theme, and an album of songs from the series sold over one and a half million copies.
