About Tayla Parx
R&B singer, songwriter and actress Tayla Parx is perhaps best known for cowriting Top 10 singles by Ariana Grande, Panic! At the Disco and Khalid and Normani. • After bit parts on Gilmore Girls and Everybody Hates Chris, Parx (as Taylor Parks) got her first break with a role in the 2007 movie musical Hairspray. She had a recurring role on the TV series True Jackson, VP from 2009 to 2010. • Parx was 20 in 2013 when she got started in music as a songwriter. She’s contributed to songs by Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe and BTS, among others. • She released her first single as a lead artist, “Do Not Answer”, in 2015, followed by the mixtape Tayla Made in 2017. • Parx is among the writers on Panic! At the Disco’s 2018 smash “High Hopes”, which spent a record 34 weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart. After being displaced by another PATD song, “High Hopes” returned to the summit for another 31 weeks. • Her first album, We Need to Talk, came out in 2019, followed by Coping Mechanisms late in 2020. • In 2019, Parx co-wrote Ariana Grande’s chart-topping hit “Thank U, Next”. Her contributions to Grande’s LP of the same title earned Parx a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.
