About Shelf Life

Multi-instrumentalist, frequent sideman, sound engineer, and songwriter Scotty Leitch fashions warm, ambling indie country-rock with his quasi-acoustic solo project Shelf Life. Hailing from Coatesville, Pennsylvania and based in Philadelphia, Leitch formed the short-lived acoustic band Pirouette in 2006, followed by the math rock-leaning Little Pirouettes in the early 2010s, amid regular work in other bands. Using the moniker Shelf Life, he self-released 2013's Facing the Right Way at the Wrong Time EP, and 2014's True Blue EP, a set of lo-fi country-folk songs. Continuing to hit the studio and stage as a working musician, including playing drums for lo-fi indie popster Alex G, he soon assembled Shelf Life's debut full-length. Citing influences from Ween and Pinback to Real Estate, he issued the craggy, introspective Everyone Make Happy with Lefse Records in September 2015. ~ Marcy Donelson
