About Sabrina

b. Sabrina Salerno, 15 March 1968, Genoa, Italy. This late 80s disco pop diva briefly challenged the former UK "page three model"-turned-pop singer Samantha Fox as Europe's favourite pop sex symbol. After appearing on a number of television shows in her native Italy, Sabrina launched her singing career with the European hit "Sexy Girl". Her major chart hit was in the summer of 1988 with "Boys (Summertime Love)", which was a big hit throughout Europe and reached UK number 3. The lightweight appeal of the song was far outweighted by the attendant video, which featured the curvaceous singer struggling to stay in her swimming costume. Although the follow-up "All Of Me" (produced by Stock, Aitken And Waterman) reached the UK Top 25, Sabrina's obvious visual attraction was not enough to sustain a successful chart career in the UK. She remained popular in Europe and South America, however, balancing her recording career with film and television work.
