Riley Jordan

A member of the Melbourne music scene since the 1980s, vocalist/songwriter Riley Jordan's sophisticated and earthy sound takes influence from blues, soul, folk, gospel, and rock. Her eclectic inspirations and textured vocals have led to comparisons to artists like Grace Jones, Tina Turner, and Marianne Faithful. A multi-instrumentalist who performs solo with a guitar and stomp box, her career-long interest in arranging and producing her own material was on display on her debut album, 2000's Down the Mother's Track. While continuing to work in the industry and perform live, she released occasional EPs and singles, including 2021's "She Can Defy Gravity."
