About Pipsy

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. 'True Colours' by art-pop band Split Enz was my absolute favourite record as a kid. I'd listen to it over and over, sitting cross-legged in front of our speakers at home in Ōtātara, starting over after the apocalyptic dance-pop of 'The Choral Sea'. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alvvays, Blue Rev Courtney Barnett, Things Take Time, Take Time The 1975, Being Funny In a Foreign Language My favourite albums at the moment: Alvvays writes the hookiest dream pop songs ever with a hint of tragi-romance; Courtney writes such beautiful & perspicacious songs; and The 1975 for George's Eno/Reich style-production is amazing. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Who Am I Really?” My personal favourite song from our debut 'All You Ever Wanted'. A slow burn synth pop number I wrote at a bit of a low point, that makes me feel better every time I hear it. It's about taking stock and wanting better things for yourself. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Our recent tour opening for Jordan Luck across New Zealand in 2022 was a real highlight, such a great band!
