Peter Cavallo

About Peter Cavallo

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My Mum was always playing Hollywood musicals when they would show up on TV. My favourite was when she would play Peter and the Wolf on the record player. So I was brought up on show tunes mainly. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bruce Hornsby, Harbor Lights Jóhann Jóhannsson, IBM 1401 a User’s Manual Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Yehudi Menuhin, Tchaikovsky: Symphony No.6 In B Minor - "Pathetique" & March Slave, Op. 31 Tchaikovsky, for me has to be hands down the most brilliant composer I've heard in my life. Bruce is a personal hero of mine for his Piano chops and constant development of his craft. Johannsson was a very deep and personal composer who touches me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “A Matter of the Soul (Reworked)” A Matter of the Soul is one of the very first solo violin pieces I wrote. It means a lot to me because of its soul searching melody. Every time I play this piece it reminds me of how simple melodies and harmony can create beauty. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2016 I won an award for the best TV Theme by my peers in Australia. The theme was written for a series called Nos Youm. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? As a composer my bucket list is too long to mention but own important item is to write a 3 movement symphony for full Orchestra.
