Mexican descendant Jimmy González was born and raised in the U.S., getting involved in popular music after joining singer Joe López to form a band called Grupo Mazz, playing private parties and special events. During the '90s, Grupo Mazz became one of the top artists in the Tejano music scene, and in 1999, after Joe López decided to leave, Jimmy González y el Grupo Mazz recorded the Tejano Music Awards-nominated Quien Iva a Pensar, featuring the hit single "A Pesar de Todo." ~ Drago Bonacich
