About Ivy Dugas

The bass player and co-lead vocalist of Lafayette, Louisiana-based Jackie Collier and the Cajun Cousins. Ivy Dugas was one of the top Cajun musicians of the late '90s. The recipient of the Cajun French Music Association (CFMA) awards as Best Male Vocalist of 1997, 1998, and 1999, Dugas wrote and sang the Song of the Year award winners, "The Gravel Road," in 1997, and "Little Short Pants" in 1998. Together with Collier's group, he shared "band of the year" honors in 1997, 1998, and 1999. Playing Cajun music since the age of 12, Dugas honed his skills as a member of Phil Menard and the Louisiana Travelers. Since joining Jackie Collier and the Cajun Cousins, led by the Cajun accordionist, he has written most of the band's tunes and has shared lead vocals with fiddler Benny Mueller. ~ Craig Harris
