About Giovanni Ceccarelli

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My primary school's best friend, Cesare, encouraged me to join him in some collective piano lessons in my hometown. The teacher's name was Anna Trontino. I was seven years old, and thanks to Cesare my musical voyage had its start. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bill Evans Trio, Bill Evans Trio at Shelly’s Manne-Hole, Hollywood, California The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) Thelonious Monk, Thelonious Alone In San Francisco Remastered I grew up listening to The Beatles' "Abbey Road", so eventually I learned a few Beatles songs at the piano. Then one day I discovered two jazz records which changed my life: Monk's "Blue Monk" in solo and the Bill Evans trio playing "Blues in F". Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Meteores” "Météores" is also the title of my jazz piano trio album containing this track. I composed it during my stay in Damascus, Syria in 2010. It features my dear friend and great musical partner, Ferruccio Spinetti, and my friend drummer Francesco Petreni What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2011 my group InventaRio spent ten days in the recording studio with great Brazilian composer Ivan Lins. Together we recorded Ivan's songs, in new versions and original arrangements. "InventaRio incontra Ivan Lins" was nominated at Latin Grammys. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would like to write original music and arrangements for piano and string quartet... one day I know that this dream will become true!
