Faizal Tahir was flying high as a solo artist from the moment he finished second on TV singing contest One in a Million in 2006—his debut album, Aku Muzik Kamu, released the following year to much acclaim and several awards. Tahir (born in 1978) hit some turbulence following a controversial TV appearance in 2008, but the KL native has since overcome the setback with countless hits and more accolades. A bona fide rock star, his live shows are a high-energy, lighter-waving spectacle, and he’s grown into an artist with purpose, fronting humanitarian efforts at home and overseas.
