About Elskavon

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. An early creating-music memory was learning how to record on my parent's old PC. I recorded a cover of Weezer's El Scorcho. It was so bad that my brother still jokes to this day he has serious blackmail over me with that recording on his hard drive. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alex Somers, Jónsi, Riceboy Sleeps Bon Iver, Bon Iver Sigur Rós, Takk... Bon Iver's self-titled was the perfect balance of new sounds + styles and classic songwriting, and caught me at a perfect stage of life. Sigur Ros was life-changing for me, w/ Takk the catalyst. Riceboy Sleeps made me fall in love w/ ambient music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Coastline” 1st single from my album Origins, which was the first time I completely disregarded creative walls, or boxes. Ambient/electronic/pop/experimental? Sure, all of the above. A record that is completely me. This song encompasses this new creative era. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Having a song played on the radio (The Current in Minneapolis). It was the 1st Bora York song we ever released, and the local music head at the station loved it, wrote about it, and spun it. We all gathered at a friend's house to listen. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Lots. I'd love to tour the U.S. and around the world a bit, collaborate with a bunch more artists, create an "album film" of some sort, record in more places around the world, score more films, and plenty more. Growing, working, writing everyday.
