Dropout

About Dropout

California's Dropout are a DJ/production duo who make slick, dance-friendly pop and downtempo electronica. Formed in Santa Barbara in 2014, Dropout originally began as a trio featuring drummer/programmer/instrumentalist Ethan Davis, singer/programmer/instrumentalist Ray Nowak, and programmer/instrumentalist Selden Cummings. They initially drew attention online in 2015 after anonymously posting the track "Slowly," which went viral and helped build interest in the group. Subsequently, Cummings parted ways with the band and Dropout continued as a duo, releasing tracks like "More," "My Muse," and "Strong," featuring Wesley Finn Tucker. In March 2017, they delivered the Handcrafted EP via the Armada Trice label. The duo followed it that spring with the single "Paycheck," a collaboration with the Ready Set, and a stylized cover of the Zombies' "Time of the Season." ~ Matt Collar
