With a name created from the acronym “Born to Beat”, the Korean boy band BTOB found their footing in the K-pop scene with sweeping ballads. • BTOB began their careers hopping through different genres, including dance pop (2012's “Wow” and “Irresistible Lips”) and breezy hip-hop (2013’s “Second Confession”). • The group eventually gained mainstream recognition with slower, more emotional R&B singles and seasonal ballads—like 2014’s “The Winter’s Tale” or “Missing You” from 2017—that acted as a cornerstone of their future releases. • The members have shown different musical sides of themselves through two splinter quartets.
